A university website that works for every stakeholder.
A university website is the most complex web project in higher education. Multiple faculties, thousands of courses, research portals, alumni networks, international student sections, NAAC compliance, NIRF documentation, RTI disclosure, and a parent audience that needs to understand it all in 60 seconds. Vision Technology builds enterprise-grade university websites that scale across 15+ faculties and 20,000+ students.

What does a modern university website actually do?
A university website is an ecosystem, not a single website. It hosts the vice-chancellor's office, every individual faculty (Science, Engineering, Arts, Commerce, Medicine, Law, etc.), every department within those faculties, the research cell, the PhD programme, the admission portal for 50+ courses, the examination schedule, the results portal, the student services, the alumni network, the international students desk, the NIRF disclosure page, the NAAC AQAR portal, the UGC compliance section, the governing body page, the RTI response portal, and sometimes even separate campus-specific pages for multi-campus institutions. Getting all of this right requires enterprise-grade web architecture.

Vision Technology builds university websites as a hub-and-spoke system. A central brand hub at the root domain presents the unified university story. Each faculty gets its own sub-site at a sub-domain or sub-path with the faculty dean's autonomy to run it — while sharing the parent brand, design system, and underlying content management. Students see a unified experience; each dean feels ownership. Central IT manages one platform, not fifteen.
Technically, every university website integrates natively with our University Management Software. Admission applications auto-create leads across the correct faculty. Fee payments reconcile across the correct department ledger. Research publications sync from the research cell database. Exam results publish from the central exam system. All of this works across 15+ faculties without data leaks, conflicts, or manual reconciliation.
Why universitys can't afford a brochure website anymore.
The Indian university sector is going through its biggest transformation in decades. NEP 2020 introduced the four-year undergraduate programme, multiple entry and exit points, and the Academic Bank of Credits. NIRF now weighs website quality and digital compliance as a separate metric. UGC mandatory disclosure for universities is stricter than for colleges. Foreign universities are entering Indian campuses, raising the digital polish bar dramatically. A university website that was acceptable in 2020 is now obsolete.
At the same time, students researching universities compare across national and international options. A 17-year-old comparing Pune University with Monash India expects both websites to look equally polished. If your state university's website looks like it was last updated in 2018 while Monash ships a Vercel-grade site, the student subconsciously assumes Monash is the better institution — regardless of the actual academic quality. Your website is your brand.
A university website that cannot compete visually with Monash or Deakin India is a university website that is losing admissions every day, quietly.
— On global competition entering the Indian higher-education marketThe websites that win admissions in 2026 don't look like printed brochures pushed online — they look like apps, load in under two seconds, and guide parents toward a single clear action on every screen. We build for that world, not the one that existed when Indian schools first put up their ".in" domains in 2008.

Designed for the parent's phone.
7 out of 10 parents evaluating universitys open the website on their phone during their commute or lunch break. If your website loads slowly, looks broken on mobile, or hides the admission form behind three menus — they're gone.
Every website we build is mobile-first, loads in under two seconds on 4G, and puts the admission enquiry button within thumb reach on every screen. We test on real devices, not just browser simulators.
Accessibility is non-negotiable too. Our websites meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards — readable by screen readers, usable with keyboard navigation, and compliant with the latest Indian accessibility guidelines. Parents with visual impairments can navigate your site, and Google rewards the same quality signals in its ranking algorithm.

Website + school software beats website alone.
Most university websites are disconnected from the software that runs the institution. When a parent submits an admission enquiry on the website, someone has to manually copy it into the admission tracker. When a parent pays fees online, the receipt goes to email but nothing auto-posts to the accounts ledger. When the institution publishes today's photos, someone has to re-upload them to the parent app. That disconnection is where university admins lose most of their week.
Vision Technology websites are wired directly into our University Management Software. Admission enquiries auto-create leads in the ERP. Fee payments auto-reconcile into the accounts ledger. Gallery photos sync both ways between the public website and the internal parent app. News posts can optionally trigger WhatsApp broadcasts via WhatsApp for Education. The website stops being a separate system and becomes the public face of your ERP.
This integration is not an upsell. It is the default. Every website we ship assumes you also use (or will use) our management software, and the two are built to work together from day one. If you choose not to use our ERP, everything still works — the admission form sends to email, the fee payment goes to your own gateway, and the news posts stay on the website only.
How we build your website.
A repeatable 4-stage process that takes 14 to 21 working days.
01 · Discovery
2 days. We talk to your principal or director, tour the campus (virtually or in person), and collect photos, logos, brand colours, and goals.
02 · Design
5 days. Wireframes, colour palette, typography, and a mobile-first homepage mockup for your approval before we write any code.
03 · Build
10 days. Development, content migration, admission form wiring, ERP integration, SEO setup, performance tuning, and accessibility checks.
04 · Launch
2 days. Domain migration, SSL certificate, Google indexing, admin training for your receptionist, and final go-live. Website is publicly live.
What makes Vision Technology different for university websites.
University websites are too complex for generic agencies and too specific for global platforms. Most Indian universities fall into one of two traps: either they hire a local web shop that delivers something clearly meant for a small business, or they license an enterprise CMS from an American vendor that doesn't understand NAAC, NIRF, or AISHE. Vision Technology occupies the third position — modern web engineering specifically built for Indian university compliance and scale.
We architect for multi-faculty complexity from day one. Every faculty gets its own content namespace, its own dean admin, its own page templates, and its own brand element customisations — while sharing the central design system, URL structure, SEO, and CMS. Changes propagate automatically. Central IT doesn't become the bottleneck for every faculty's news post.
Our university websites are pre-built for Indian compliance. UGC mandatory disclosure, NAAC AQAR, NIRF disclosure, RTI response portal, Academic Bank of Credits integration, AISHE data export, governing body pages, annual reports, audit reports — every mandated section has its own template. When the UGC inspector visits your website, everything is there. No scrambling, no gaps.
We do not ghost you after launch. Most Indian web agencies collect the final payment and disappear — try getting a bug fixed six months later. Vision Technology builds long-term relationships with every institution we work with. Your website is our responsibility for as long as you own it. Content updates, security patches, performance tuning, and SEO improvements are ongoing, not one-time.
An admission season — before and after.
Same university. Same marketing budget. Two very different admission cycles.
A brochure website the parents close in 30 seconds.
- Month 1 — VC asks for a website refresh. Each faculty dean has their own request. Project paralysed in scope debates.
- Month 3 — Legacy CMS breaks during a routine update. Every faculty page goes down for 8 hours. Crisis meeting.
- Month 6 — NAAC AQAR submission due. Compliance team cannot find last year's research publications on the site. Manual scramble.
- Month 9 — A prospective international student opens the website. Visa information page is from 2019. They assume the university is defunct.
- Month 12 — NIRF ranking slips 18 places. Website is quietly blamed in the post-mortem.
A website that does the heavy lifting.
- Month 1 — VC signs off on a single mockup. Each dean is onboarded with their own faculty sub-site admin within a week.
- Month 3 — Website runs on modern cloud infrastructure with 99.99% uptime. Zero downtime incidents.
- Month 6 — NAAC AQAR data auto-compiled from University ERP. Submission takes one afternoon.
- Month 9 — International students opens the website. Visa page is current, multilingual, and has a direct WhatsApp help link. Conversion up.
- Month 12 — NIRF ranking improves 24 places. Website is quietly credited in the success story.

- Universities modernising from legacy websites — we handle the migration, historical content preservation, and parallel-run cutover
- Universities with international students needing dedicated visa, hostel, and multi-currency fee pages
- Universities using Vision Technology University Management Software who want the full-integration advantage across admissions, exams, and research
Look elsewhere if…
We'd rather point you to the right product than sell you the wrong one.
- You want a custom design from scratch with unique animation and illustration work — we build clean production websites, not design-award pieces
- You want a DIY website builder (Wix, Squarespace, WordPress) — we are a full-service agency, not a template shop
- You want it done in under 14 days — quality takes time; we won't cut corners to ship faster
- You don't have photos or content ready — we can help generate some, but you need to provide the core material
- You want to pay only after 100% launch — we work on milestones, not post-paid

14 to 21 working days from kickoff to live, depending on how quickly content and photos are provided. The build itself is 10 days — the rest is discovery, design, and launch. We can accelerate if you need a launch for a specific admission season; talk to us about your deadline.
Yes. You own the domain, the content, and the design. We host it for you on our infrastructure for a small annual maintenance fee, or you can migrate to your own server at any time with a full export of your site. No lock-in.
Yes. Every Vision Technology website comes with a simple admin panel — post news, add photos, update the staff directory, publish events. Your receptionist can manage it without any technical help. We provide free training during launch and unlimited email support afterwards.
We migrate the content you want to keep (news archive, photo galleries, staff profiles) and leave the rest behind. Domain migration is handled as part of launch. SEO preservation — 301 redirects from old URLs to new ones — is included, so your Google rankings survive the transition.
Yes. If you do not have a domain, we register one on your behalf. If you already have a domain, we assist with the DNS migration. SSL certificate (HTTPS) is auto-provisioned and renewed by our infrastructure — you never touch it.
Every site we ship is SEO-optimised out of the box — proper semantic HTML, schema.org markup, meta tags, automatic sitemap, fast mobile performance, and pre-configured Google Search Console. Most clients see first-page rankings for their institution name + city within 30-60 days. Competitive keyword ranking depends on your ongoing content strategy.
We can integrate with most popular ERPs — Schoollog, Vedmarg, ProEMS, Sweedu, or custom ones — if they offer a public API. Integration cost depends on the target ERP's API quality. For institutions using our own University Management Software, the integration is pre-built and free.
Pricing depends on page count, custom design elements, and whether you want integration with our University Management Software. Typical range is a fraction of what Indian agencies charge for equivalent work. Request a quote for a detailed breakdown tailored to your university.
Our university website was 14 years old and held together with duct tape. Every faculty dean had a different vision; the IT team was overwhelmed. Vision Technology delivered a modern multi-faculty hub-and-spoke website in 8 weeks. Every faculty has autonomy, central IT doesn't get pestered, and our NAAC inspection next year will not be the panic it was last time. Best vendor decision we have made in a decade.
